Hi, I’m Sarah – Dance Teacher at Move It!

I first fell in love with dance and performing as a teenager. I started dancing Ballroom and Disco (now called Freestyle — which definitely shows my age!), and attended a secondary school which was focussed on the Performing Arts. Those early years gave me a passion for performing that never really left me.

After some time away from the dance floor, it was my daughter Emily who brought me back. When she joined Move It and I helped backstage for their 2018 show ‘Into the Woods’, I felt a huge wave of nostalgia… and a little bit of jealousy! So, at the prime age of 37, I knew it was time to dance again — and I haven’t looked back since.
More about Sarah
I now have over 6 years of experience in various styles, including Cheer Dance, Modern/Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointework, Acro, and Freestyle. I’ve studied with IDTA and Acrobatic Arts, taken multiple dance exams, and competed successfully at regional, national, and international levels. I’ve also performed in several local productions at the Gaiety Theatre here on the Isle of Man, and I love supporting the arts across the island, including performing with Yn Draamey and other community initiatives.

While our teams were gearing up for the 2023 Future Cheer International competition at Disneyland Paris, I was lucky enough to start TA’ing the Under 8s Cheer class — and more recently, the Primary Freestyle class. This hands-on experience, combined with the unwavering support of the Move It team, inspired me to take the next step: qualifying as an IDTA Freestyle teacher in March 2025.

As a teacher, I’m passionate about helping students discover their own love of dance — whether they’re aiming for the stage or just dancing for fun. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students grow in confidence, skill, and joy. I cannot tell you how proud (and teary) I get watching them perform, it's just the best feeling ever!!.
“I truly believe dance is for every body. If you love music and movement, you belong on the dance floor.”
Favourite and Funniest Dance Memories:
One of my memories that stuck with me has to be from the Move It to the Rescue show — I accidentally danced in two completely different sized shoes! Thanks to the darkness backstage, I grabbed one of Emily’s size 3 jazz shoes and my own size 6 shoe because all I could make out was the name “Craine” on the inside. Let’s just say it was slightly uncomfortable but I made it work!
My funniest memory has to be our character duo entry for the Guild 2025 — who would’ve thought you could perform a ballet-themed routine dressed as Mario and Luigi? We couldn’t stop laughing the whole time! Huge thanks to my partner in crime, Aimee, who never misses a chance to have fun and entertain, and Kate, who somehow turns our craziness into a real routine.
