Aeryn Breed

Choreographer

Hi i’m Aeryn, one of the teachers at Move It Studios.

I have been dancing since the age of two, where I started my journey doing Ballet, which is a style I still continue to train in. I am now lucky enough to spread my passion further by supporting my students through their own journey, which I've been doing as a teacher for a few years now.

I train in styles such as Ballet, which I've mentioned, Tap, Modern, Freestyle and Lyrical, and I teach both Contemporary Modern Jazz and Hip Hop.

I was given the chance to start my teacher training through being a teaching assistant in 2021, and since then I have taken multiple courses, such as the BGU Hip Hop qualification and the BGU lyrical beginners qualification, both of which I passed with 100%, in order to further my teaching.

More about Aeryn

While dancing at Move It, I have attended many competitions and taken various dance exams.

Most recently I took my IDTA Intermediate Ballet exam which is a 45 minute long exam that has 49 dances in it! Crazy right? I was honestly surprised that I remembered it all. Doing this exam enables me to take further exams for my teaching and once I get my results I'll be able to say I'm an advanced ballet dancer, which has evidently been a dream for me for quite some time.

One of my favourite competitions I've attended was “Future Cheer Brings It On” in 2023, which was held in Disneyland Paris, at this comp I won first place soloist and my Lyrical and Cheer teams won two At-Large Bids to the World Dance Summit competition in Disney World Florida. This win was absolutely surreal, and it's one of those moments I'll always cherish, that joy, screaming with my friends, and the reality of it setting in, is a feeling i’ll never forget.

But enough about that, you want to know about my teaching, right?

For me, teaching isn't about telling your students what to do and how to do it, teaching is about creativity, and letting my creative influences blend with my dancers to create a singular cohesive piece that intertwines my thoughts and concepts and their ideas and emotions. Dance is about telling a story, its expression through movement when words aren't quite enough. What you create has to resonate with the audience, but how can it do that if it doesn't resonate with your dancers? That's why their input is so important, and why I feel it should be included when I create. When we create.

I take influence from a great deal of things, you dance with anything in mind, a colour, an emotion, a singular thought, all that matters is that you move with that as your influence, and that you sell that to your audience, and that you enjoy how you do it.
